This Privacy Policy explains what information CareerBank™ ("we", "us") collects when you create a JO1N ID account and use the Platform, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using CareerBank, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

Quiz & assessment data	Your responses to the career quiz, computed archetype scores, and dimension scores, used to generate your Career Intelligence Report
Uploaded files	CV/resume, portfolio links, employer verification documents (e.g. SSM certificate), academic certificates — only if you choose to upload them
Usage data	Pages visited, opportunities viewed or saved, applications submitted, general device/browser info (for security and troubleshooting)

2. How we use your information

To create and secure your JO1N ID account and let you sign in;
To generate your personalised Career Intelligence Report and email it to you as a PDF;
To match you with relevant opportunities, scholarships, competitions, and events;
To let employers and partners review applications you choose to submit;
To operate admin functions (e.g. reviewing employer verification documents);
To send account-related email (verification, password resets, your report) and, where you haven't opted out, relevant updates;
To keep the Platform secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Who we share it with

CareerBank operates as part of the wider JO1N ecosystem and relies on a small number of trusted service providers to function:

JO1N ID — our shared identity provider. Your email, password, and role are registered there so the same identity works across JO1NEdu, JO1NPro, and JO1Nbiz.
JO1N Core — receives your quiz responses (best-effort) to power shared career-guidance features across the JO1N ecosystem.
Employers & partners — only see the application details and documents you actively submit to their specific listing.
Email delivery provider — used solely to deliver transactional email (verification links, password resets, your report PDF).
Cloud hosting & database providers — host our application and database infrastructure; they do not use your data for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of CareerBank, our users, or the public.

4. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at hello@careerbank.co and we'll action it, subject to any records we're legally required to keep.

5. Your choices

You can review and update most of your profile information from your account settings;
You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account, by emailing hello@careerbank.co;
CV, portfolio, and verification document uploads are optional — you can use most of the Platform without them.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage (bcrypt hashing — we never see or store your actual password), HTTPS in transit, and access controls on our admin tools. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data protected and will notify affected users if a breach materially impacts them.

7. Children's privacy

CareerBank is intended for students, professionals, and employers old enough to lawfully hold an online account in their jurisdiction. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we'll address it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
